A feasibility study undertaken for a client whose family was starting to outgrow their current home, but were reluctant to leave the area.  This feasibility demonstrated a loft conversion, a large single storey rear extension and a small single storey side extension to the 3 bedroom family home.  The loft conversion was to be accessed via a contemporary staircase with alternating tread, allowing much of the first floor layout to remain unchanged.  The rear extension would have created a large kitchen and family room with utility space.  Under permitted development it is unlikely that the side extension would have also been allowed, due to the increase in footprint.
